The Kiwanis Scholarship

As a nonprofit organization established over 75 years ago, Carmel Valley Kiwanis is proud to serve our community with a strong emphasis on our youth. In 1978, beloved educator & longtime Kiwanian Orville Rodgers founded our scholarship program—his belief in the power of education & the promise of young people lives on through this initiative today.

Each spring, we have the privilege of meeting a group of students whose stories remind us why this program matters. Their perseverance, growth, purpose, & compassion continue to inspire us long after the interviews end. Over the past 47 years, we’ve awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships to 371 high school graduates from Carmel Valley—& we look forward to continuing this meaningful tradition with the Class of 2026.

Applications for the 2026 Scholarships will open mid-February!

Carmel Valley Kiwanis is proud to support the educational journeys of local high school seniors through our long-standing scholarship program. These scholarships reflect our dedication to supporting students who lead, serve, and grow—in the classroom, in their communities, and through activities like sports, arts, clubs, or work.

To help us better understand your strengths and experiences, the application includes four scholarship categories for consideration:

  • General – For well-rounded students who excel academically and give back to their communities

  • Vocational – For students pursuing careers through trade schools or vocational training

  • Athletic – For student-athletes who demonstrate dedication both on and off the field

  • Learning or Physically Challenged – For students who show resilience and achievement while navigating learning differences or physical challenges

You may choose one or more categories that best reflect your background. While award names are not tied to these categories, your selections help guide our evaluationprocess.
